The Salt Port Vigilance Committee

HR&GC Range and Safety Rules

HR&GC runs a cold range; all gun handling is to be done at a designated safe area.

All shooters can uncase and holster handguns in the parking lot. Long guns can be uncased and placed in a cart (actions open and muzzle up) in the parking lot. No other gun handling is allowed in the parking lot. If you do not have a cart, long guns will be transported to each range, cased. While at the range, long guns will be uncased and placed in provided gun racks action open and muzzle up.

One Marshal will be appointed per posse. His word is final in any and all safety issues.

While on any of the CAS ranges, guns will be handled, only by the direction of the Range Master or his appointed posse marshals and deputies.

Unloaded long guns will be carried muzzle up. While on the firing line all loaded guns will be handled so the muzzles are pointed level and down range. While shooting, the muzzle of the gun must always be pointed at the backstop. For unsafe gun handling you will get one warning, the next infraction will result in a match DQ.  Any AD is an automatic match DQ.

We are SASS affiliated and follow SASS rules for all CAS matches.

Scores and match information will be posted on the DSM website
